Argos moves into a brand new space at The Square, Camberley
Retailer Argos have announced their move into a brand-new space at The Square in Camberley.
The high-street favourite is opening in their new home within Sainsburys in November. With this move Argos will relocate within the refreshed supermarket. This move will save up to 12 jobs that otherwise would have been lost if the brand removed their presence from the town centre. Argos will extend their opening hours from 8am to 8pm. The new space enables Argos to offer an extended range including fashion and six pay at browser points will be installed so customers can shop with no queues.
While nationally Argos have announced the closure of up to 70 stores, the home retailer decided to keep a strategic presence in Camberley town centre. The decision to remain at The Square comes on the back of strong footfall at the centre, which is outperforming retail benchmarks across the South East and seeing positive rebounds since the re-opening of non-essential retail in June.
The new state of art retail area will allow customers to combine their supermarket shopping with click and collect services that Argos offers making it more convenient for shoppers when they visit Camberley.
The Squares Centre Manager, Rhoda Joseph commented: In an ever-changing retail landscape, were delighted that Argos are staying at The Square. Customers can combine their supermarket trip with a visit to Argos for convenience, or use either store as a separate reason to visit. The Sainsbury store will be refreshed as part of this transformation. As the relocated Argos is close to the multi-storey car park, getting purchases home will be easier too.
The confidence Argos have shown by staying in Camberley is reinforced by the incredibly positive customer numbers weve seen in the past few weeks, and its fantastic that shoppers are rewarded by still being able to visit their favourite stores.
