Camberley International Festival Returns!

This summer Surrey Heath Borough Council and Camberley Theatre are delighted to host the second Camberley International Festival.
Juliet Aubrey, the BAFTA award winning actress is once again the festivals patron.
I am so happy that the Camberley International Festival is returning, packed with even more cultural delights this summer. I am particularly looking forward to seeing some of the talented film-makers and animators as part of the competition I will be helping to judge. Ill be announcing more details about this very soon!
From June 7 17 Camberley will be brimming with live music, comedy, dance, film and food events.
Camberley Theatre will be providing the ticketed shows, including:
– Five time BBC Folk Award winners, Oysterband, on June 8,
– Contemporary dance, Pyschoacoustic on 11,
– Comedy from Graeme of Thrones on 13 and the All Star Comedy Stand Up on June 16th.
Anyone who buys tickets to two or more shows will get a special festival discount of £5 per ticket.

There are also plenty of free events taking place across Camberley.
On Friday June 9 an array of young, upcoming bands will play at Central Bar (aka the working Mens Club).
Headlined by Guildford band Blackwaters who are four eighteen year olds starting to make an impact of the national indie music scene their last single was produced by Carl Barat from The Libertines. Main support comes from another local artist on the rise, Annabel Allum.
On Saturday 10 June, The Carpenters Arms will showcase a whole day of free music. Starting at lunch-time at finishing at 11pm. Headlined by Martin Stephenson and the Daintees, whose debut album Boat To Bolivia was released on the iconic Kitchenware Records in 1986.
The Bear pub will also have a variety of live music on Saturday 10. Curated by Bristol musician, Steve Strong it will feature trip-hop, experimental and math rock. There will also be lots to enjoy on Park Street, including The Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band. Eight musicians from the villages surrounding Jaipur, Rajasthans renowned Pink City, make up the brass core of this rousing new ensemble.
There will be a grand finale to mark the closing of the festival, on Saturday June 17 at the London Road Recreation Ground.
