Camberley Theatre launches Open Mic Nights in their new bar, CT’s.

This month Camberley Theatre launched its first ever Open Mic Night. The event welcomed a variety of musicians of all ages. From local bands, vocalists, guitar players, pianists and even ukuleles; there really was something to suit everyone's taste.

The event took place in Camberley Theatre’s brand new night spot – CT’s Bar. With an intimate, warm setting that plays host to a mini-grand piano, CT’s was the perfect place for performers and audience members alike. The new drinks menu was also well received. Serving craft ales, cocktails, spirits, beer and wine you are sure to find your preferred tipple.
The night opened with nu-folk ukulele player Nathan Agate. The evening also welcomed a second ukulele player, fifteen year old Matthew Quilliam from Yateley. Matthew had a much more traditional sound. He performed three songs, one of which was George Formby’s ’With My Little Ukulele In My Hand’. His accomplished playing and deadpan delivery of lyrics went down a storm with the audience.

The event also saw five piece band ‘The Project’ from Frimley perform a fifteen minute set including Eagles cover ‘Tequila Sunrise’ before finishing on Travis ‘Why Does It Always Rain On Me’.

Camberley Theatre Open Mic Nights occur on the third Wednesday of every month at 8pm and are free to attend. The next Open Mic Night will take place on 24 February.
