Local school set for Mall takeover!

A local primary school is gearing up to take charge of The Mall for one day only, as part of the National Children’s Commissioner Takeover Day.

Frogmore Junior School in Camberley will be heading to the shopping centre on Wednesday 11th February for takeover day, to learn about The Mall, how it works and important roles the staff play.
Year 5 pupils will be shadowing teams including the General Manager, Ask Me Point staff, cleaners and security to discover what it’s like to work in a busy shopping centre. The children will also be taking part in a variety of tasks, including helping to plan Easter events and design posters to promote the activity, as well as being set ‘homework’ to write about their experience at The Mall.

The winning piece on Takeover Day will appear on The Mall’s website, with the winner also receiving a prize from The Mall.

**Joana Santos, Marketing Manager at The Mall**, said “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Frogmore Junior School to The Mall for Takeover Day. We hope to show the pupils what it’s like to work in retail and a shopping environment, and to possibly consider a career in retail later in life.”

National Children’s Commissioner Takeover Day gives children and young people the chance to work within different environments for the day, working with adults to be involved in their decision making. Children benefit from the opportunity to experience the world of work and make their voices heard, while adults and organisations gain a fresh perspective on what they do.
