LOVE CAMBERLEY BOOST LOCAL EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE IN CAMBERLEY WITH LOYALTY CARD

In an effort to increase the community feel in Camberley Town Centre, encourage more leisure time to be spent in the area and reward local employees, the Collectively Camberley Business Improvement District (BID) – also known as LoveCamberley - have developed an Employees Privilege Card – The Industry Insider Card - that provides access to exclusive retail and hospitality promotions to local retail employees.

Launched in early 2014 and only available to Camberley Town Centre businesses, the Industry Insider Card has attracted over 2000 members and so far generated around 4000 new transactions for businesses taking part in the scheme.

The programme launched with over 40 different offers, including those from Zizzi, Specsavers, Costa Coffee, and independent retailers Mimosa, Marc Daniel Hairdressing and John Harwood Opticians, with many offering substantial discounts.

Providing local employees from within the business improvement district with shopping, dining, entertainment and leisure promotions, the card offers measurable value for businesses in the area by increasing employees’ engagement, boosting staff morale and encouraging local spend.

**Marc Davidson, Owner of Marc Daniel Hairdressing** on Park Street is part of the scheme and told us; “We were one of the first business’s to take part in the Insider Card scheme as it fitted perfectly with a promotion we were already running in the town centre. To date we are extremely happy with the number of clients both new and existing we have visiting our salon through the promotion, they all love it as we offer a huge 50% discount on all our services, which as we keep being told is just amazing. We also give every member of our team an Insider Card and they love using them in the town, in order to obtain their own discounts also.”

**Matt Case, Retail Development Manager for Costa Coffee** in The Mall said of the scheme; “Being a part of the industry insider card has been of great benefit to our business. It allows us to support the local community around us, rewarding those that work in Camberley, allowing more opportunity for local businesses to work together better. The card has enabled us to reward our own team also, giving greater value to the package we offer for our Camberley Baristi.”

Each card, created with its own unique barcode, is presented to businesses which are part of the BID, including retailers, restaurants and cafes, beauty salons, professional service providers and popular leisure outlets, in return for an offer, promotion or discount for each cardholder.

**Lucy Boazman, Collectively Camberley’s BID manager**, said: “It’s a great initiative to reward employees in the area and engage with our local businesses. There is a real buzz around Camberley, particularly with so many businesses engaged. The loyalty platform provides the BID with the ability to manage multiple offers from a centralized place. The redemption technology we use is POS agnostic, allowing any kind of store, large or small to get involved.”

“Our mission at Collectively Camberley is to make the town centre a destination of choice for shoppers and visitors as well as a vibrant location for business and residents. There are over 3,000 people working in Camberley Town Centre and we are keen to make their experience as great as possible. The card is an excellent tool for any of the towns’ employees to attract and more importantly retain staff”
