The Square Camberley set to host plastic bag swap event this February
The Square Camberley is set to host its second plastic bag swap event as part of the centres campaign to help reduce the need and waste of plastic.
Taking place from the 1st February and running until the 15th February, The Square is inviting shoppers to swap their plastic bags for a free reusable shopping bag.
To receive the reusable shopping bag, shoppers will need to take a total of five plastic bags to The Squares customer service desk, located in the main square opposite Patisserie Valerie.
Shoppers from The Square will also notice a unique design on the reusable bag. The Square challenged students from Crawley Ridge Junior School to create their own designs whilst pupils attended the centres Take Over day back in October last year. The winning design, created by Alice Salmon can now be seen on the reusable bags.
On Saturday the 2nd of February, little shoppers will also get the chance to take part in The Squares free arts and crafts session where they can personalise their own reusable shopping bag. The arts and crafts sessions will be from 11am to 4pm.
Joana Santos, Marketing Manager at The Square Camberley, said: Were delighted to be hosting our second plastic bag swap event and its great to see stores at The Square, including Costa and Muffin Break working hard to recycle cups and offer initiatives such as their reusable mug campaign to help reduce their mark on the environment. With the ongoing use of plastic affecting the whole world, its important to take steps to try and reduce its need and demand.
Joana continued: Id also like to thank the pupils from Crawley Ridge Junior School for taking the time to create some fantastic designs for the reusable bag. Congratulations to Alice Salmon whos winning design can now be seen on The Squares new reusable bags.
