Vienna Festival Ballet comes to Camberley Theatre
On Saturday 4 June witness a performance of Swan Lake. One of the best known love stories with lavish costumes, stunning scenery, international stars, and glorious music from Tchaikovsky. Swan Lake is the most popular ballet in the world. It’s the ballet that captures like no other the full range of human emotions – from hope to despair, from terror to tenderness, from melancholy to ecstasy.
Vienna Festival Ballet was founded by the celebrated Austrian dancer Peter Mallek. Gill Mallek, Executive Director of Vienna Festival Ballet originates from Camberley and is delighted to bring this show to her hometown.
Gill attended Tomlinscote School and Sixth Form College before going on to attend Elmhurst Ballet School. Elmhurst Ballet School was originally established in the early 1900s in Camberley, however, it is now an associate of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. The productions Ballet Mistress, Emily Hufton also attended this prestigious Camberley ballet school.
Since the companys first performance over 35 years ago, the company has grown and prospered. Engaging talented international dancers from all corners of the globe, this dynamic company brings vitality, energy and exuberance and continues to delight audiences throughout Europe with their dazzling yet faithful to tradition productions.
