Waterfords Clean for the Old Dean
This time, a team of five went to the Pine Ridge and Lorraine School on the Old Dean estate in Camberley, transforming the pond area for when the children return after half-term.
The Federation of Pine Ridge Infant and Nursery School & Lorraine School and Nursery was set up in 2008 to strengthen the links between the two infant schools on the Old Dean and to ensure quality provision of Early Education and Family Services. The Federation also includes Little Acorns Pre-Nursery and a Sure Start Childrens Centre which are located in the grounds of Pine Ridge School.
On Thursday 18th February, the Waterfords team spent the day clearing the pond area of debris and jet-washing the surrounding pavement so that when the children return after February half term, they can continue to enjoy the pond and learn about the wildlife it supports.
Volunteer Emily Pilbeam, Senior Lettings Consultant in Camberley, commented:
It was our pleasure to help out again at Pineridge School. The team had a very rewarding day transforming the pond area and we hope the children will be able to get more out of it when they return. We enjoyed the perk of tea, doughnuts and cookies provided by the friendly staff onsite! We are keen to be more actively involved in the community in Camberley and to raise awareness of the great services on offer in the area.
Our Community Champions next challenge comes on Saturday 5th March, when our new Farnham Office team will be getting involved in Clean For The Queen, a national campaign launched by Countrylife Magazine and Keep Britain Tidy, urging Brits to clean up the streets ahead of the Queens 90th birthday celebrations in May.
